Friday Photo #1

This is a photo taken by Brian Griswold of the best Thoroughbred to ever live, Secretariat. I chose this photo because I have a retired thoroughbred racehorse who looks almost identical to Secretariat. Secretariat was named the best thoroughbred to ever live because he won the Triple Crown which has only been done twice once by himself and once by Man O' War, but Secretariat completed each race faster than Man O' War. This photo was taken on June 9, 1973 while Secretariat swooped the other horses by 31 lengths in the Belmont Stakes winning $600,000. The day before the race, all the other horses were rested; only Secretariat was run hard and pushed to limits never seen before a major race. As such he commanded a lead never before seen in a major race or ever since. Winners do what everyone else wont and take chances the rest are unwilling to accept. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V18ui3Rtjz4 I highly recommend watching that link. This is my horse Sly Striker that almost has the same markings as Secretariat.
